Life...

This poem was written by mother Teresa and it has a special meaning to me: I read it at the funerals od both my grand mothers. Reading it to myself and to the people who were around me helped me saying and believing that even is sad context we never have to loose the faith in the beauty of life.

I hope that you, dear reader, will appreciate it, and that it could mean something to you as well.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realise it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.

Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it!

stabbed heart

In this cold and dark night I'm thinking that exactly 5 years ago aslmost at this hour you were leaving us forever.
If you were still here I'm sure you'd want to see a smile on my face.
But tears just don't  how to stop themselves from dropping down on my face.
You were my strenght and my joy. And now I don't know how not to feel lost.
Time goes by too quickly, and I can't believe that 5 years are there between us.

No longer mourn for me when I am dead
Then you shall hear the surly sullen bell
Give warning to the world that I am fled
From this vile world, with vilest worms to dwell:
Nay, if you read this line, remember not
The hand that writ it; for I love you so
That I in your sweet thoughts would be forgot
If thinking on me then should make you woe.
O, if, I say, you look upon this verse
When I perhaps compounded am with clay,
Do not so much as my poor name rehearse.
But let your love even with my life decay,
Lest the wise world should look into your moan
And mock you with me after I am gone.

(Shakespear, Sonnet 71)

I never told you how greatful and happy I was to have you in my life, and realized  it while you were dying. I'm doing it now with this post, but I'm sure you knew it even without this.
All I can do now is sending kisses to heaven.

on Friday night

Friday evening, raining outside, tired and slightly sick after a very long and intense week.
A few skype chats opened on my dekstop, rambling throug some blogs on blogspot when I suddenly read this poetry...  exactly what I felt but couldn't express with words.

Magic on ice

In this hot summer day, as I am relaxing afther a hard week of work, I decided to write update this blog writing something about one os my biggest passion...

Since when I was a little girl I've always been fascinated by ice skating, and in particular by figure skating and ice dancing.
I think being a professional skater was one of my childhood dreams... it didn't come into reality, but it's never too late, at least to take some lessons.

In the meanwhile I want to share with you some youtube videos, maybe not the best ones but this is a personal choice:

Carolina Kostner's shor program at Euro 2007.
Why this video?
Because I'm fascinated by her, and not because she is italian... I think she is one of the most elegan skater on the ice, together with the wonderful Kira Korpi.
IMO I think this is one of the best shorts Carolina even skated, and I love the music, an arrangement od Pachbell Canon in D made by theaustrian composer Robert Werner, especially for her. The combination of music and steps of this program captured my hearth... hope you'll enjoy it :)
PS: unfortunately there is just this very low quality video, where the speaker doesn't stop speaking... :S

Every discipline has it's king, and Evgeny Plushenko definitely deserved this title:
this is the short performed at the Olympic games in Turin in 2006, on the musics of Tosca by Puccini, arranged by Edvin Marton.

But skating is not only an individual art: I am amazed by how many feelings can be expressed on the ice, their performances are a concentration of love, sweetness, strenght, grace and harmony... and will

This is the last video I'll upload in this post: a fantastic ice dancing couple and very expressive

I hope you enjoy those videos, but seeing them live is a very intense experience.
A few years ago I went with some friends to see the practice of the ISU Grand Prix Final that were hold in Turin, and we stayed sat for 5 hours, absolutely captured by the evolutions of these artists of the ice....

Happy birthday

first bday in the facebook era... and I am almost physically overwhelmed by the huge amount of nice thoughts that my fb friends left on my page... new and old friends took a minute of their time to think of me and to wish me a nice day.

I know it's something that  will last just for one minute... but for that minute, it was a wonderful feeling.

Today, on my 26th bday I am thinking in particular of a  wonferful red haired girl... who shares her bday with me and it seems like, after all, is enjoying this day, despite of all the fears about today.

Dear friend, I really wish you that today you can start a new life :)

and a big big thank you to all the guys from enrico fabris' forum... it was wonderful reading all your creative and kind messages here
